Air Force Sinks Ship in Key West

I served 4 years in the Air Force (Vietnam) and 2 years in the reserves and NEVER heard that the Air Force had ships.  Now as a scuba diver I learned they had a small fleet of ships.

KEY WEST ― Scuba divers and Key West hotel operators are circling May 15th on their calendars.

That’s the day a retired U.S. Air Force missile tracking ship will …

DOMINICA OFFERS A DEPTH OF SAVINGS FOR DIVERS

Dominica has always been one of my favorite dive sites.  The diving is great with wonderful visibility and wall diving and topside it is an island with beautiful waterfalls, Carib Indians crafts hiking and many other activities.  Also Dominica is still off the beaten path of most cruise ships, so the island maintains much of innocence.

In Dominica (pronounced “dom-in-eek-a”) underwater tunnels teaming with schooling fish lead to vertical walls and …

Coral World Ocean Park

I recently found out about the Coral World Ocean Park in St. Thomas Virgin Island.  There are many different activites for adults and children including:

snorkeling in a shark pool
a touching ray pool
an undersea observatory over a living coral reef

and much, much more.  Your park admission even includes access to Coki Beach, which is right next to the aquarium.  So the next time you are in St. …

Vail Divers Explore the Oceans

EAGLE-VAIL - Arlan Moore glided inside sunken naval ships most would never get a chance to see - or wouldn’t have the guts at 180 feet below the ocean’s surface.

Scuba diving at slower than a crawling pace in one of the ship’s tight passageways, Moore saw 14-inch artillery shells, clips filled with ammunition and full sake bottles at Truk Lagoon, where allied aircraft sunk a Japanese fleet near …
