GREENLAND SHARK

How many of you know what a Greenland Shark is or have even heard of this creature of the deep and the cold? Be honest!
I was recently reading my copy of National Wildlife (the magazine from the National Wildlife Federation), and came across an article by Doug Perrine about the “Stranger Than Fiction” Greenland Shark.
This creature inhabits water at great depths (at least 7200 feet) and swims under the polar ice cap. The Greenland Shark has, for a better term, antifreeze is in their flesh, making it toxic to humans.
The sharks have been rare, but have been sighted up to 24 feet long and more recently have been sighted in the St. Lawrence River.
So the next time someone asks you about Greenland Sharks, you can tell them a few facts and say, “Yes I have seen one” at www.scubaology.com
