Review of Olympus Stylus 1030 SW

olympus-stylus-1030-sw-2.png

Recently Conrad Blickenstorfer and Gizmodo reviewed the new Olympus Stylus 1030 SW.   The SW stands for Shock and Waterproof.  Unlike other point-and-shoot digital cameras, the 1030 can go to a depth of 33 feet without additional housing.  You can take the camera snorkeling or mountain climbing because of it’s rugged casing.  The 1030 is a 10-megapixel camera with 2.7 inch viewing screen, and it has an underwater video mode.

The 1030 SW can withstand a crush pressure of over 200 pounds, which makes it great to take in your on-board luggage.  The camera is available for about $399.99 at a variety of on-line sellers, including Amazon, CDW and more. You can get and optional underwater case PT-043 that will allow you take pictures down to about 130 feet.

Let us know what camera you use and why at info@scubaology.com.  All responses will be entered in a special drawing for a COOL prize. You can also send us a picture (include a brief description) and we will post it on our web page.
