Coral Reefs Are Struggling to Stay Alive

The Chicago Tribrune reports, “Coral reefs around the world are struggling from a combination of assualts.  Decades of overfishing have removed fish and other animals that keep overgrowth of algae in check….”  As I reported back in SeptemberCorals have been assessed and added to the IUCN Red List for the very first time.”

Divers, non-divers and anyone concerned about the conservation of our oceans should take heed.  If the coral reefs start dying, the ecology of the marine life around the world will be affected.  There is much work to do and here is one way to GET INVOLVED.
