The Red Sea, one of the world’s premier diving destinations, can be reached from Europe by cheap charter flights. The climate is tropical; prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, the most popular resort areas, like Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh, are also overrun with tourists, the reefs teeming with as many divers as fish.

I dove at both Sharm el Sheikh and Eilat, Israel in the late 1990’s and found both spots pristine.  During this time only a few tourists and liveaboards where doing the Red Sea so the coral was beautiful and there are certain species of marine live only found in the Red Sea.  Looks like the world has found this beautiful site.
