Nickel the Green Sea Turtle
In 1998 an injured Green Sea Turtle was sighted in the Flordia Gulf. She was injured due to a boating accident and near death. The turtle was retrived and in 2003 was given to the Shedd Aquarium. During the vets examination the turtle was found to have a nickel lodged in her esophagus which was removed and the staff gave her the name Nickel. Today you can watch her swim in the Caribbean Reef Exhibit with her back side up due to the accident. Come by and say hello to Nickel.
