Age Not A Factor
This is a picture of women who are both divers and snorkelers.
I was recently re-reading an older copy (2005) of Scuba Diving Magazine, and came across a letter from a woman who had just gotten her Open-Water Certification in Grand Cayman. She then spent 4 wonderful days diving with 5 grandchildren, ages 10-15. She was 74 at that time. It was one of her lifelong ambitions.
I have been told by friends that they would love to get certified, but they feel they are too old. Age is not a big factor as long as you are in good health. DAN reported form the Journal of Applied Physiology that underseas diving has been found safe for the elderly. So I say, “Age is a state of mind. Get certified!”
